New grant supports Clarion West
We just received a $1,500 grant from King County’s 4Culture Sustaining Support program. Kate Schaefer, Acting Development Director, says that while individual donations are the core of Clarion West’s support, “this kind of grant is important, too. It tells the world that our organization is here to stay, and that local government has noticed the important part we play in King County’s arts scene.” Since the 4Culture grant isn’t tied to any one program, we can use it to fund the everyday work that makes the workshop and Summer Reading Series possible. This is a two-year grant, so we’ll be able to use the award money when we plan for 2009.
The hours you volunteered and the individual donations you gave us were key in proving to 4Culture that Clarion West has broad community support. Thank you so much for your help in winning this grant.
