Deb Taber
Excerpt
Caterwaul Rawling. It sounded like some kind of slang term for bad music, or a band that produced it. Samielle wasn't sure if someone who called herself that ought to be saved from whatever trouble she had gotten into, but the thought of actually meeting a manufactured entity who operated far beyond the capacity of Earth's humorless mechanical children was enough to keep her working. Between that and the basic outline of Anarchy's operations that Kiphe had sent, Samielle could almost forget that she had just turned forty-three and no one but her FiQL had bothered to wish her a happy birthday. -from “Second Cell” (work in progress)

Writing Description
Deb likes to explore the gray areas in human nature and the alien in the everyday, whether writing fantasy, science fiction, or something in between.
Writing Goals
This year, I'm in the process of major home repair during the Write-a-thon (which may require temporary relocation), so my goal is very simple: focus on my writing at least once a day, every day. That may mean five minutes of staring at a blank page with a blank mind; it may mean bashing out 5,000 words. But every day, the goal is to focus solely on writing for a moment or two, no excuses.
Fundraising Goals
For fundraising this year, I'm offerring to match sponsorships for up to $100, as long as a minimum of $50 in sponsorships are met. My goal is to have to scrape together that full $100 of my own to match my generous donors.
